We are Log Home, Post and Beam specialists located in Duncan, British Columbia on Vancouver Island in the beautiful Cowichan Valley.

Hi, I'm Scott Buckland, owner operator of a small dedicated company that is very experienced in many varieties of log construction. Since 1981, I personally have been involved in the construction of well over 250 log homes, recreational cabins, commercial buildings and much more.

At Island Log Homes we use only the highest quality Douglas fir logs available to us on Southern Vancouver Island. Our logs are approximately 12” mean diameter and are hand peeled with draw knives to ensure the highest quality. The logs are hand scribed and cut, then fitted in a saddle notch style.

At Island Log Homes we understand that high standards translate into extremely satisfied customers. All of our buildings are treated with an environmentally safe yard guard and end seal which keeps our buildings protected from mold and sun damage until they can be stained.

 Island Log Homes can either supply you with one of three building formats:

-           The log work
This package includes your log package ready to be set on a foundation.
-           Lock-up
This package includes foundation, subfloor, roof, interior framing, windows and doors.
-           Turn-key
This package is all inclusive.

Island Log Homes works closely with a log home design company that has over 30 years of design experience. As log homes can be custom designed or chosen from a wide variety of catalogued designs. They are very capable of taking care of your blue print needs. To give an accurate and fair estimate, we really do need a working blue print with engineering complete (if applicable). Ball park figures for log work only, start from $35.00 per square foot and for turn key from $170.00 per square foot.

At Island Log Homes, we realize that construction can sometimes be overwhelming. We are here to help through all phases of construction if needed. Island Log Homes works closely with capable contractors specializing in all other facets of log home construction from foundation to finish.

Island Log Homes primarily builds for Vancouver Island and the Gulf Islands, but can ship elsewhere. We are also proud users of, as well as a distributor for, C.B.R. products. They have a product line of High Performance stains specially formulated for log homes. They are environmentally friendly products. We are honoured that they are a part of our team helping us to produce a superior product for you.
